Patients with Dental Insurance

You are fortunate that you have a dental insurance plan to help you with your dental needs. We do all we can to help you maximize your benefits on a yearly basis based on your treatment requirements. We ask you to keep several facts in mind:

1. We believe that a cooperative effort between you and our office will result in a dental service that we are proud to render and you are pleased to receive. We want to meet your needs in a way that adds significant value to your life and to our as well.

2. We ask that you understand that we neither work for the insurance companies, nor do we wish to. We work 100% for you. We want to help you maximize your benefits and we work to tailor your treatment plans to do this. However, we do not want to be controlled by insurance companies nor the benefit packages they offer.

3. Today most insurance companies are controlling costs by reducing benefits. Let me assure you that the insurance companies are concerned mostly with their bottom line and not your dental health. We believe the first concern must be you.

4. As a service to you we will file and provide preliminary tracking of your claims to assure that your insurance company has met its obligations. In return we ask that you help us in providing all necessary information. If we have not received your payment in 21 days, we ask that you become actively involved in the status of your claim. The person who receives the fastest response from the insurance company is the beneficiary of the insurance claim.

When dental co-payment plans began in 1970 they allowed the same amount of maximum payment per year as allowed today of $1000. Today many of the maximums are still the same. In other words, reflecting for a 6% per year inflation, your $1000 benefit per year is equal to $290 in today’s dollars. Had the insurance companies increased their benefit on a year-by-year basis reflecting this increase for inflation, this year your benefits would be $3207.14 per year.
